Advanced Development<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The task of the Advanced Development Department is to analyse trends in auto industry and technology for the next 5-15 years, furthermore to prove the feasibility of applicable product ideas by developing prototype hardware and software.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The appeal of the work performed by the department is that following and monitoring the constantly and rapidly changing auto-industry trends requires a high degree of flexibility. Our work is diverse and fast-paced, and requires a great deal of expertise. Another essential element is that we must swiftly integrate innovations, new results and know-how into our own corporate vision, and develop the winning strategy accordingly.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Another great benefit is that the Budapest location is also a competence centre, allowing for considerable room for manoeuvering and providing a great deal of freedom for developers, which is key in ensuring that we anticipate and react to the new, upcoming challenges as fast as possible.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The department functions as a company within the company, and we also strive to establish close cooperation with all departments involved in the areas necessary for operations. This is crucial for ensuring the appropriate flow of information between the various disciplinary areas, and essential for the smooth transfer of the developed methodologies, product concepts and technologies. We cooperate with the Department of Systems and Vehicle Dynamics in developing vehicle control algorithms, <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

and with the Software and Hardware Development Departments regarding the compliance of the different prototypes with various standards. In addition, our cooperation with the System Safety Department is also crucial, as developing a safety-critical system requires at the very beginning of the process, while still in the concept phase, an appropriate development process and the adherence to fundamental requirements needed for the safety classification of the future product.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

In order to develop long-lasting solutions, high-level competencies must be developed in a number of highly diverse areas. The structure of the department is like a company within a company. Naturally, the handover of the collected know-how and the developed prototypes for serial development makes it essential to establish closer relations with the groups working in the other departments of the company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Due to the wide-ranging scope of activities, the department also has hardware, sensor, software and algorithm development engineers on staff. In addition to developer tasks, we place great emphasis on supporting original thinking and testing new ideas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The department\u2019s scope of activities includes the administration of patent affairs for the Budapest location, which comprises research and risk analysis for the patents of competitors, and the patenting of innovative ideas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today\u2019s mainstream automotive trends, such as the self-driving car technology, electric drives, and urbanisation are set to fundamentally change anything and everything we know about cars and transportation. Our task is to find and prepare the appropriate solutions for these trends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of our most important projects is the development of so-called Steer-by-Wire solutions, which allow the full exploitation of self-driving technology and which, on account of their smaller size, allow the practical integration of electronic devices required for the next generation of vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Self-driving technology, one of the most championed and revolutionary innovations of our time, is something that is extremely important to us as well. Our department contributes to this trend of providing all-encompassing convenience and safety, by developing integrated vehicle control algorithms.\n\nAs of yet, nobody is certain what developments will be needed to create the car of the future. The project also includes the development of a fully automated prototype platform, essential for developing and validating the necessary new functionalities.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
