About Us

The thyssenkrupp Automotive Technology Group is a technology leader in the field of steering systems, and a major innovative partner of the auto industry.

We have 16 sites around the world where we work on developing modern technology solutions to make driving safer. At the Budapest subsidiary of the thyssenkrupp Automotive Technology, we have been developing electronic steering systems for passenger cars since 1999, in our role as the only electronic and software development competence centre within the corporate group. We are committed to developing innovative and high-quality products to satisfy the demands of the largest auto manufacturers in the world. Our goal is to develop a safe and efficient steering system that provides our customers with a flawless driving experience.

Our corporate group continues to grow in Budapest, and has also been expanding to other locations in Hungary since 2012. The chassis experts of the thyssenkrupp Automotive Systems in Győr have been assembling complete drivetrains since 2013 for Audi Hungária Motor Kft, using a just-in-sequence system. Our company opened two new facilities in Jászfényszaru in 2016, where we began manufacturing steering gears and overhead camshafts in 2018. thyssenkrupp's coil spring and stabiliser facility in Debrecen has been satisfying the demands of well-known auto industry companies from that year on by providing them with its products made using some of the most up-to-date technological equipment available. Our office in Veszprém, part of the competence centre in Budapest, was launched in 2020.

The essence of our work both in Hungary and in other countries can be described in three words:

Interesting assignments, state-of-the-art technology, and teamwork at the highest level

Marc de Bastos Eckstein

Managing Director, thyssenkrupp Components Technology Hungary Kft.

Welcome to this special place, dear visitor. Our motivation for arriving to Hungary in 1999 was different from that of other multinational companies, when we, a leading figure in German industry, started collaborating with a small team of Hungarian engineers. Thanks to our successful cooperation, we were able to build factories in Győr and Jászfényszaru, and are in the progress of building another one in Debrecen; in addition, the group has a unique, E/E electronic and software development centre in Budapest.

We deal with special automobile industry assignments and projects nationwide, ranging from developing several future-oriented steering systems including self-driving, among others, to manufacturing components for precisely made and state-of-the-art products. We often transform great ideas into tangible products, and our scope extends from algorithms all the way to finished products. You can read more about our company and our activities on our website.

All of the major car manufacturers (OEMs) worldwide know us and acknowledge the quality of our work. Our results might be comparable to winning a gold medal at the Olympics every single time—even though for us, the “Olympics” are several times a year. The key to our success is our strong and cohesive team, where our doors are always open to each other.

This is who WE are: the thyssenkrupp team. thyssenkrupp!
